Imagining her future: Jordyn MacDonald
Jordyn MacDonald started as an engineering student with the Sussex Sawmill in May of this year. She had just wrapped up her first year at the University of New Brunswick's Saint John campus when she joined the team. This summer she'll be helping with the optimization of equipment inside the mill and working closely with the maintenance team.
She grew up without any significant engineering influence, but is excited to promote the industry today and in the future.
"Engineering is a very male-dominated industry, so I'm really excited to break that stigma! And since I don't know exactly what I want to do long-term and there are so many things you can do with an engineering background, I know it will open a lot of doors for me," says Jordyn of her future career.
The Sawmill Division is proud to offer student positions in various disciplines across our operations. If you're looking for your next co-op position, apply today at careers.jdirving.com or reach out to the Sawmill HR team directly at sawmills@jdirving.com.
